‘Be vigilant’, SM says

SENIOR Minister Goh Chok Tong, visiting Ms Lo Hwei Yen’s wake yesterday evening, said her death brought home vividly the fact that terrorism is real.

‘This particular tragedy has reinforced our vigilance and our determination to make sure this thing doesn’t happen in Singapore.

‘Outside Singapore, we’ve got to be vigilant, but it’s beyond our control. In Singapore, we’ve got to be sure that something like this will never happen. That is, no large-scale attack on our facilities in Singapore.

‘That is the job of our security and our authorities, but also the job of every Singaporean – just be vigilant. Anything suspicious, report. Just make sure that we do not suffer a similar kind of attack on Singapore.’
